I don't see enough theatre and I wish I did. You know when you see a piece of theatre where you forget that it's live & happening in front of you, that there are so many thoughts and feelings being triggered inside you whenever a character says something? I love plays where I can't stop thinking about the comments passed back and forth. You know there'll be feelings brought up when it involves a couple, especially if they've been married for 25 years. Henry (Thomas Hauff) and his wife Alice (Patricia Hunter) spend a weekend in a hotel to add some spice to their relationship. They come to some realizations about each other and themselves. That may sound like a hundred other plots you've seen in sitcoms and M.O.W.'s, but it's always refreshing when a playwright comes up with a different way of presenting it. I'll say only this without giving too much away: 50-something woman dressed as a dominatrix and her husband in pure shock: 'nuff said. The audience got a major kick out this also. For those of you who think you're too young to appreciate a 50-something couple talk about sex and relationships, you'd be seeing a lot of your parents or other couples you know. Think of this as a preview when you're in a marriage that has survived for 50 years and you start questioning your worth and desirability. The actors were sharp with the comedy and surprised us with the dramatic. I'm so regrettful that I didn't see this earlier so I could recommend you all see this before it ends April 17th.
